Sophia Kurz, Angelica Ruzanova, Gracie Warhurst and Michael Zhang are the students who run The Future Press (from left to right, top to bottom).
The Future Press is the world’s first AI-run metro news site for the purpose of research at the University of Texas School of Journalism and Media. In conjunction with an ongoing online journal, the project seeks to determine the limitations and capabilities of AI like ChatGPT in producing journalistic content.
All the content you see on The Future Press news site is AI-generated, from the tagline to the art. While the content is produced by AI, humans are responsible for prompting, editing and publishing. Any factual inaccuracies or mistakes are not intended to cause harm or spread false information, and we are working hard to insure all published content meets journalistic guidelines.
At the conclusion of our research, our team hopes to be able to answer the question of what role AI can and will play in the future of journalism. The project is funded by the Dallas Morning News Innovation Endowment, managed by Professor Christian McDonald and Professor Robert Quigley, and run by journalism students Sophia Kurz, Gracie Warhurst, Angelica Ruzanova and Michael Zhang.
